ABS Light Stays On - How to Fix?
97 ITR. My ABS light was throwing code 15 (right rear sensor). So I took off the right rear brake and poked around. The sensor didn't look damaged or have an excessive gap. I put it back together and now I get a constant ABS light. No DTC (codes). And, I can't erase this constant ABS light.
So helms says
1) check the 7.5 abs fuse. It's fine
2) Check for open in IG2 circuit. I'm not very handy with a multimeter. But the I stripped a bit of plastic off the No 11 wire on the 22P connector. Setting the multimeter to DC, I touch the red probe to the exposed No 11 wire, and the black probe to the body. The needle moves... Don't know what the meter should read... I could use some help with this step.
Assuming this step is ok, I go to step 3.
3) Check for short to body ground. The ABS light stays off, and the solution is "Check for loose ABS control unit connectors. If necessary, substitute a known good ABS control unit and recheck".
So, any assistance with step 2 would be appreciated (what values to set the multimeter tester at...2.5, 10, 50, 250? And what should I be looking for as a meter reading for "battery voltage"? 12v?
Or should I just try to find a known good ABS control unit and replace it?
