Default ? about CTR psitons in a b16

i have a 99si and am looking to get CTR pistons. when i researched it siad that standerd pistons will fit without mod. Xcept for milling the rods? what does that mean and how diff./expencive is it? also are there any rods made fo the CTR pistons i could just directly replace instead of milling? this is all i know so if there's any more steps or things i need to upgrade plz tell me

the opening in the piston is not wide enough for the rod.
i recommend opening up the piston instead of grinding the rod.
there is no rod that i know of that is a direct fit for those pistons and fits in a b16a
with a b16a crank

anyone else? which would be able to take the milling better (not be weakened) the piston or the rod?

When I had my B17 engine, I went with the milled rod way instead of the piston mod. You can go either way, It doesn't hurt anything. Although if you do go the piston-mod, the pistons will become slightly lighter; you'll probably want to get them all equally balanced; same if you go with the rod-mill mod.

here's a little diagram of what I show people who want to put 'R' pistons in their B16/B17 engines and need this mod:

all you gotta do is take your B16 rods & CTR pistons to a machine shop and tell them that you need the pistons to fit on the rod, suggest either milling the rod or modifying the pistons wrist pin area to fit onto the rod. Shouldn't cost too much (under $40, at least in my area).
