Default 94 eg CEL ??

My 94 eg with b20b has a miss when you first start it up. It runs and idles rough for a few seconds until the CEL comes on then it idles and runs fine. I used a paper clip to check the codes and the CEL lights up solid but dont flash at all when the two wires are jumped. Anyone have any ideas??
Also if i unplug the map sensor it dont change anything. Could it be a bad map sensor?

When you are putting the checking for the codes, do you do this with the car running of off?

Once the light comes on and it runs fine, that's normally putting the engine into limp home mode, which normally makes the car run with no power not make it run fine.

You really need to get the engine light to flash with what code or codes they are. With out knowing what they are, it could be anything.

When i check the codes i put a paper clip jumper between the two wires then turn on the ign. switch and the check engine light stays on. Im not doing it with the car running.

I got it fixed. I ran it until the light came on then checked the code with the car still running. It was a 3 for map sensor. Replaced map sensor and everything is good. Thanks for the help guys
