If you turn on the ign switch to run, [not start] you should be able to hear the fuel pump run, [from inside the car] for a few sec, [priming]
Problems with the PGM-FI Main Relay are common on Honda/Acura, the older the car the more common the problem is...

i honestly never could hear my fuel pump prime when the ign switch was turned to on , i did try to listen out but i didn't hear anything.. its been quiet like that since the car was running fine ... i totally forgot about the main relay , im gpnna try that out and test it with my meter ! if it is the relay do you think i could pass by buying one from a advanced auto
alsoooo would the relay cause air to be in the gas tank????
( just read thru the link you postd thanks gnna test it that way very useful info )

"Pressure" in the gas tank is normal.
You should be able to hear the fuel pump, I have yet to check a Honda/Acura that I could not hear the fuel pump priming.
When you turn on the ign. switch, [to run] you should hear/see...
Two (2) "clicks" from the PGM-FI Main Relay, first click is the injector relay, second click is the fuel pump relay, it may sound like one click as they are very close together.
At the same time the cluster lights will turn on, including the CEL.
Also at the same time you should hear the fuel pump running, [priming].
After a few sec. there will be a third click from the PGM-FI Main Relay, [fuel pump relay turning off] the fuel pump will stop and the CEL will go out.
It is easier the feel the clicks of the PGM-FI Main Relay, so place your hand/fingers on it when turning on the ign. switch. 94

Like FCM said you will have the pressure in your tank and them have relay problems not along the fuel pump to have proper voltage. If you here the pump running check fuel pressure, and if that is good check you spark because that is another common issue. You don't have a MSD box hooked up do you?Because i had the same problem that was solved by installing a tach signal amplifier.Good luck
Hey, brooklynEG, try reading through this thread, it could be similar to yours maybe? i also had the main relay issue before, I couldn't hear the fuel pump prime when the click the ignition to on position, but the CEL light will come on and then off, just without the priming sound, so the main relay was replaced, thenpriming issue went away, but another issue came up, just normal wear and tear of parts that I need to replace.
