When exactly do you smell the "burning" when key is turned on to acc, run or all the way to start? 94

The burning smell is coming from inside the car or from under the hood? You really need to track this mess down.

Frm the inside, while I'm trying to turn on the car, the problem is inside not under the hood

Not exactly what I asked.

Is the burning smell there only when trying to start the engine, [ign. key in the start position] or is it there also when the key is in the acc. or run position?

To narrow down the circuit that is "burning" I need to know when exactly you get the burning smell, if it only happens when trying to start the engine, [cranking] it narrows it down quit a bit, it can only be the ign. switch itself, starter contacts in the switch burning] or the starter lead to the starter relay, the starter relay itself or the lead from the starter relay to the starter solenoid, or any connection point in between.

There is no fuse between the ign. switch and the starter solenoid to blow, so you would not find a blown fuse. 94
