Default 90-93 integra....AXLES KEEP BREAKING

HELP anyone!!!!!! Here's the problem. I just keep breaking my damn axles. It's all stock, juss lowered sitting on some 16" rims and a b16 moto swap. All else is stock.

1. What do you think the problem could be? Crossmembers (front, rear, middle)????
2. How do I change/remove the rack and pinion to replace the rear crossmember bar?
3. Could frame be bent?? But how can it, never got in an accident

Any help or replies is greatly appreciated..

thanks

Well I would look into the swap. Maybe it isn't sitting properly in the bay. Did you have this problem before the swap? Before lowered? Properly installed? Hope this gives you an idea or 2.

motor isn't sitting properly. Did you use a Hydro or cable tranny? that could cause the motor to sit too far to the left if you had to make a conversion (non was made for that car)

also could be you are TOO LOW and the axles are not straight enough and your putting to much pressure on teh CV joints

I am using a cable tranny and i had this b16 motor in the car for about 3-4 years without no axles problem. Everything drove fine. It just recently occured. As for swap it's done right thats for sure, cause if I never has this incident in the future w/ this b16 swap the axles would of broke on me first hand off.

maybe your motor mount is broken somewhere.

all mounts are good, frame not bent, motor sits in correct, axles seems to line up fine. I recently replaced the tranny, half shaft, clutch, whole driver side suspensions, from top to bottom....

Get some axles with the lifetime warranty from Pep-Boys and every time they break, take them back and get a new set. Not really solving the problem, but making it less financially troublesome.

Thats a good idea, but I've already tried that w/ 2 different local shops. But than they they caught onto it. HeHe..Also I dont think it is worth it to keep taking the axles out back and forth every 1-2 days just cause it broke. No luck there now it's just time to move forward and find out what the damn problem is. Gotta face it sometimes.

But I think I fixed it today. Me and my buddies was working on it like crazy and I think we got it. I drove it around the block a few times and everything drove fine just that I need to bleed the brakes from letting it sit so long.

Do the axles break somewhat at random or only when you launch the car / shift hard? If they break when you cause them stress then it could be the quality of the replacements you're using, but with the way you make it sound like you've broken so many axles, it definately seems like the motor is not sitting right or something else is loose / broken / crooked. Oh well I hope you got it.

What the hell does that mean? What did you do to it? I was also wondering where the axles were breaking and if they break in the same spot all the time?

define 'breaking'... or are you just tearing the boots? I noticed you just lowered your car.... this is one of the down falls.

how low did you lower the car cuz rite there i think that is where your problem is. dropping it to low will cause twice the amount of stress on the cv joints just on the way the car is resting.cuz ive heard of ppl breaking axle scuz of there car being to low. try that hope that works out for you

Fix meaning..maybe fixed and wont break no more. I changed the front, rear, and middle crossmembers and rack & pinion. The axles was breaking inside the inner cv boot by the half shaft.

The car is lowered on some 16" rims w/ 40 series tires right to the top of the tires only. I dont know if thats consider low to you guys but to me it's not that low. And thats for all your help on the inputs guys... Greatly appreciated, but problem has been fixed and headaches are gone. Wheww!!!!! What a releve, now I dont have to sell it no more.
