alright, i need some diagnostics help from my fellow honda brothers/sisters. i was at the track, redlining 3rd and ACCIDENTLY went into 2nd. omfg, my tach wrapped around to the zero (maybe closer to the 1), my motor yelled "you f'ing moron", and my ********* shrank to the size of peanuts. took it out right away.

car still ran "normal", except for wehn you're in first, it doesn't feel engaged all the way, i dont know, it's hard to explain. ive heard of people dropping valves, ****** up pistons, and what not. but i don't know what's wrong w/ my car, if anything. there are no cel lights, the car drives kinda weird tho, im sorry but i can't explain it really.

can you guys help me out on what could be wrong and what i could check, im stumped. maybe my tranny, i donno, help.

How mechanically enclined are you? I suggest tearing the motor down ASAP and do a visual inspection instead of doing the guessing game. If you can't do it yourself, pay to get it done... It'll save your *** in the long run.

Do a compression test. That will tell you real quick if you bent any valves.

yeah, im gonna do a compression test when i get the gauge thing. im sad to say, but im thinking i might have bent some valves. at idle it vibrates, not violently but it does. underload, the car seems to be weaker and it vibrates also. thanks for the help.

what all would i have to change out if it is bent valves? the valves, would the piston be messed up? etc?

wouldn't there be a check engine light if something was fucked up??? like bent valves...

A leakdown test will tell you alot more.

CEL's come from sensor readings (or lack thereof). There are no sensors on or near the valves, so you could bent one to 90 degrees and you'd have no CEL.

CEL's come from sensor readings (or lack thereof). There are no sensors on or near the valves, so you could bent one to 90 degrees and you'd have no CEL.
Unless it's OBD2. Then you'll get a missfire CEL.

yah, it's obd2. how do you do a leakdown test??? i forget which one it is. and if it is a bent valve(s), what would have to be replaced, piston, valve, valve guide...

also, what are some other diagnostics of what this could be. there is rough idle (it got a lil better over the past few days), i was driving and the car just died in neutral (had to keep the revs up so it wouldn't die), underload it seems to vibrate/seems weak, thnx for helpin me out you guys, it's just made me all depressed and **** for being a we todd, i've done it before but it was never this bad.

he man. sounds ot me like ya bent a few valves. hopefully ya pistons are ok and just goota remove the head and buy some new valves. Wont cost you much more then a head gasket, valves and machine work....should be under 500 or so all said and done.
