My car shifts hard (grinds is more like it) when I shift into second gear. If I do it slowly, I can get it in without grinding. Ive gotten quotes as much as $600 and as low as $400 to fix it, but I'd rather just buy the part and do it myself. I have heard from a few people the parts to fix the problem aren't that expensive, its just the labor that costs so much. Can anyone help me with what part(s) I may need? I have a 90 prelude w/ B21A1 engine. Thanks for any help

 

It can get really expensive quick. your best bet is to tear down the trans and inspect it.
