Default 2G Teg Vacuum problem...

I have a 91 CRX with a B20 swapped into it. I have a second gen Integra intake manifold and TB. The reason for the question is there are 2 dashpot thingies with vacuum outlets that perplex me. One is on the TB and the other is just to the right of it on the manifold. I believe all other vaccum items are properly hooked up. Car has been running for a couple of months but since it is getting colder, idle is getting wacky. Can someone who knows about 2G Tegs tell me what the hell these things are? where they go? Thank you.

The one thats near the throttle body you can remove completely. Its supposed to have a vacuum line going to the intake tube, and makes the throttle close a little smoother. The other one i cant really picture. . . you dont have any pics do you?

JalopySIR: yeah you don't have to worry about that top dash top. I had it hooked up using the stock 90-93 intake rubber hose, don't think you ned to worry about it tho. Maybe your car needs to warm up before you take off.....That and the 90-93 intake manifolds were slightly more resrtictive than the 94+ ones......i've got a skunk2 which may benefit you more than it did me......open that b20 up and let it breathe!

Actually, no I don't have any pics. I assume that it looks identical to any 2G Teg...
By wacky I mean Shooting up to almost 3 grand when cold then going up and down around a 1000 RPM range(2500 - 1500). Yes It sounds like that Idle thermo valve doohicky, but it even does it when warmed up, to a lesser extent from like 1500 down to 800...It is REALLY annoying! As for the skunk 2 would slapping that on there fix this? Were there any funky issues with the install? Thanks for the help on this guys. Oh and taking that first wacky vaccum thing off won't affect anything? It looks as tho it is attached to the TB spring Mcthingy...

On the 3 grand aspect, i've seen that happen before. You may what to replace the idle thermo to start. Also I know what 2 dash posts you're talking about. the one beside the TB you can leave alone. But the one on the manilfold, it has a vaccume line coming out of it right? I took that on off and sealed/plated over the hole. Does your manifold have an EGR valve on it? Also did the manifold come from an automatic tranny?

I put his car together, so perhaps I can shed some light on this...we left the two ports open at the time because the hoses that exist onthe 2g teg do not exist on the CRX. It ran great for the summer, and now is having a problem. WE don't know what tranny the donor motor had, it came from a yard for a good price including injectors. THe manifold has a PCV hole, which is in use, no EGR AFAIK.

Ten bucks says it IS the fast idle thermo valve. These are the exact symptoms of a bad one. Actually i just replaced mine a few weeks ago, just as it started getting cold out it went.
