Default 2 Problems! need solutions! please help!

ok so i have a 1998 integra gsr. i recently went to get a smog check done and it failed due to the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) being on. the guy at the shop told me to drive it around 100miles before i retest. so i drove it about 400 miles before going back and it had still not reset?? does anyone know what could be the problem? also the car is not throwing a check engine light but it still says MIL is on?

My second problem is that when i run my car at high RPMs white smoke comes out from my muffler. But when the car is idling and when im driving normal no smoke comes out? what does white smoke mean? and will this also cause my car to not pass smog?

any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks

are you sure there is a good bulb in the "check engine" light socket? scan it for codes and post them up.

coolant smoke is usually a really, really thick white plume......oil is a bluish/white that is not nearly as thick they can easily be mixed up if you are not sure of what to look for....if the smoke is only at high rpms, my vote would be intake valve seals starting to go bad....i doubt its your head gasket if you are not having any other issues
