Default 2 alternators

is it possible to run 2 alternators off the crank pulley? say you got a pully to put on the alternator that had the same grove as the A/C belt on your crank pulley, could you just fabricate a mount, and splice the wires? or would the car not like this too much?

I'm only guessing but I think the 2 voltage regulators would be fighting against each other.

The 'right' way to do this would be to make(?) one external voltage regulator to supply excitation current to both alternators. Then each alternator wouldn't have a regulator, it would just have the shell of a regulator just to hold the brushes.

Sounds like too much work, not worth it. Probably be easier to fit a single big alternator.
