Alternator belt keeps flying off?
Fixed, the crank pulley had a chip that was shredding the belts. A new one is on and everything is ok.

I dont think there is a pulley, it should go right from the harmonic balancer straight to the alternator.
What do you mean the pulley isnt lining up?

Im talking about the pulley on the alternator (the whole alternator is not at the right angle for the pulley on it to align with the crank pulley).

wow what an obvious reply....
to the OP. it could be like you said alternator not ligning up correctly. are you using the bracket, alternator, alternator pulley, for that engine or did parts come from different motors?
the belt could be kinda loose too, does it squeel at all?

thanks for the first logical post, lol. Im using the alternator and parts from a 97 gsr and the built motor in my car is a 97 gsr so that should not be the problem. I checked the tension on the belt and adjusted it really tight, loose, and about every possible position and i still have the problem. Is there some sort of a bushing in the lower bracket? Someone told me it may have not been put back in when we swapped the motors and that it would make the alternator and pulley be at an angle.

Maybe you should add a bushing. I cant think of the harm by adding a large washer or two to get the two pulleys to line up. Is the pulley on the crank not seated correctly?(does it wobble when turned?)
