1997 CX Hatch Won't Start!!!!!!
I've searched, I've asked, I've gotten opinions.....I'm so lost!
My sister just a "97 Civic CX hatch. Bought the car last week and it ran brilliantly.
Then a few days ago it decided to not start.
The starter won't turn over.
In the time that we've been diagnosing it, we've gotten:
-new starter
-new clutch/starter switch
-new main relay
-new battery
After all the new parts, we just can't get the starter to turn over. When it did originally, it turned over PERFECTLY, no hesitation. Car runs like a dream
But I'm in a bind right now and don't know where to turn.
Could it be the ignition switch? What are the symptoms of a bad ignition switch? When you put the key in to the ON position, the ECU runs through like normal, fuel pump activates. Everything seems fine there.
We've checked ALL the fuses. Nothing is blown.
Any thoughts?

It could definitely be the ign. switch, not uncommon.
Try a "bypass jump" using a jumper wire with one end connected to the batt. pos.(+) post touch the other end to the starter solenoid terminal.
BE CARFULL, engine will crank even if ign. switch is off, car is in gear and clutch not stepped on, make sure car is not in gear and hand brake is set, if ign. switch is on and engine cranks it will start.
If it cranks/starts you will need to test the starter lead at the ign. switch with a multimeter or test light. 94

Sure enough, ended up being the ignition switch.
Checked voltage on the exposed solders on the ign switch and the black/white wire wasn't showing any. Replaced it and it fires right up!
Thanks for the advice.
