Default 1990 Integra Ignition Problem

For the past year, the Integra has gone through two ignition coils, the original and the new one.. I can't figure out what's causing it because no one really has an answer to it.. Everyone says change this and that.. Ofcourse changing the distributor helped, but again the ignition coil blew up.. For some reason there seems to be a Hot to Hot Short within the coil itself and it seems to be inducing too much current or something.. I'm not too sure what the problem is.

Also, the radiator fan stays on for a long time after the engine is shut off.. Would that have anything to do with it.. One person said that fixed his problem, but what do you guys think.. Hopefully one of the techs here can give me an answer and not a guess..

Later..

Default Re: 1990 Integra Ignition Problem (PnX-R)

If you're having ignitions problems then the engine probably getting abit hot, and that would explain the fan running awhile after engine cutoff. In the Texas heat my fan runs everytime a cutoff the engine.

As for the ignition problem, sorry, I can't help. You should be able to check the current at the contacts. Have you gone through the trouble-shooting section of a manual?
