I have a 99 EK that Im getting ready to smog and the CHECK ENGINE light is on! I did a quick "How to read ECU problem codes" from HONDATA. Found out that I have a error code "10". Wich means... IAT - intake air temperature sensor. How can I resolve this problem?

I tried...
disconnecting the negative. (Left it off for 5 min)
unpluging sensors and pluging them back in.

What else can I do?????

 

Check the plug on your IAT sensor and make sure that it is on the sensor all the way. You can also look around your intake manifold, throttle body and intake to see if anything is wrong or out of place that would cause that sensor to trip.

Oh I for got to mention...

well I bought the car from an auction. It never came with a air box (intake sytem). SO I went to an exhaust shop and had one made of exhaust pipe. But then again, I didnt make the holes for the sensor in the intake like every other intake has. Could that be it? But I cant find the sensor thats suppose to go in there!!!

 

um.....yeah. I'd driil a hole and stick it in the intake tube. Where did you have it?

 

Well it didnt come with one. I had this one done. I cant even FIND the plug that its suppose to plug into. Damn CX motor
