I posted this in the EG section but couldnt solve the problem......

I had a b18c5 in a DX running a p-28 mugen program and it was running fine. Then i got the chance to get a VX so basically i pulled the two motors and switched them (everything except the pigtails) and now im getting a CEL code 1. I got one suggestion and tried it but it didnt work.

Basically what my question is how different is the VX wiring harness compared to the DX?? I know the V-TEC wires are already there but is there something to do with the 02 sensor too? Another guy told me that the VX uses a 5 wire 02 sensor and the others use a 4 wire setup. When i did the swap I kelp all the wires that were on the motor so this is really frustrating me. People tell me its not that big of a problem but im **** about things like this. so if anyone can help that would be great thanks and sorry for the long post.

the o2 prolly went bad they tend to do that. yes the vx have a 5wire o2 the problem is there expensive. there should be no problem doing the swap and having the 5 wire even though the ones i have done i have used the 4 wire from the motor.

 

i am using a 4 wire 02 that came with my motor I know its not bad cuz the code doesnt come up until i drive the car for awhile and the CEL doesnt come on right away when i start the car. Im thinking its the wiring cuz i no problems with it when it was in my DX....

 

I have a couple iFriends who've have VX's they've DOHC hybrid'd.
Jeff Sloan had to swap a wire around because of the 02 sensor....
