i have a b16 tranny on my 450hp LB/ 650hp HB daily driven hatch. i just blew my 4th gear to pieces and can get a complete ls gears. will swaping a ls 4th into my b16 hurt me or maybe even help. its longer so i figured it will help stay in 4th a little bit longer. my other gears will stay b16. let me know what u think

it would be better IMO to either keep the b16 gears or get a complete LS tranny because say with the b16 tranny in 3rd at 8k at say 80mph you are shifting to 4th and it ends up at i dunno say 6k in 4th........... with the ls 4th you will shift at that 8k at 80mph in 3rd and then hit the LS 4th which will be like 3-4k at 80mph


thats very confusing i know but what im saying is that it would fall on its face soooo bad and then you would have to build boost all over again in 4th gear

 

even with a 2liter and a ball bearing turbo, cuz i alreadyu got the whole internals for a ls tranny but dont wanna loose my shorter first through 3rd

 

i decided to go with a ls 1 2 3 4 with an itr 5th and a 4.4 final drive
