Wandering and Pulling While Accelerating
Hey everyone...
My 93 civic hatch likes to follow dips and curves in the road on it's own. I've installed camber kits, had a full alignment done, and adjusted the guide screw (steering is nice and tight now
) but the car still wanders. Any other suggestions?
BTW, I've got an LSD, I'm lowered on coilovers and run 215/40/16 tires. I'm getting frustrated here. I've searched and tried many things, but I still haven't figured out my problem.
I just got my LS-T (280 whp/255 tq) running in it and it's scary to drive when you don't know where you're gonna end up. If the ground is flat, the wandering is not an issue. Is this something I have to deal with or is there a fix?
Please help me if you can honda-tech!

what did you alignment say? what did you set your car to?
tramlining is a common effect and is what youre describing. you can read about it here.

also, if you have a loose balljoint or something, the alignment may not be accurate. check for play.

Thanks for the link... I set the alignment to about 0.8 camber in front. A little less in the back and the toe was near zero all the way around. I also replaced the tie rod ends already.
Any more ideas?

ball joints and or tie rod ends. Check them both and you should be able to visually spot the problem. One of the boots will be ripped.
Thanks for the replies!
Ball joints and tie rod ends are good. Need to check the LCA bushings though... Any other bushings that might need to be replaced? Front sway bushings have anything to do with this?

The sway bushings shouldn't effect that, though you might want to check them while your inspecting the rest of the suspension.
I noticed a substancial increase in tramlining after I changed over from the stock Michelin XGT V4 tires to Falken Azenis. And thats on a stock 00 gsr so all the bushings are still relatively new. Increasing the front tire pressure seemed to help (40+ psi) and I'm sure I don't need max grip on the street anyway.
