Uneven pad to rotor contact
I noticed that my passenger side rear brake pad isn't making full contact with the rotor. The outer edges of the rotor are coated in rust, while around 85-90% of the rotor actually shows signs of proper wear.
The rotors and pads are brand new and the rotors came pre-surfaced. I bed in the rotors and pads properly and haven't done any hard driving since then.
Today I went ahead and removed the caliper and checking for any problems; but came up empty handed. Nothing particularly unusual....
The car brakes fine and notice nothing odd outside of an occasional squeal.
Just wondering if just resurfacing the rotor would help, if it sounds like some other issue or if the rotor to pad contact will even itself out over time.
Thanks in advance

Re: Uneven pad to rotor contact (thaseint)
I know my Integra front rotors were a mere $15.99 each from vatozone, making them cheaper than the pads. I wouldn't bother to resurface a rotor, just go get new ones, especially if the old ones are rusted more than usual / acceptable.

that's normal, the brake pad shouldn't make contact with 100% of the rotor surface, at least non of mines don't. The squeak may be due to brake dust or a loose antirattle clip. If or when you take it apart again, clean really well with brake cleaner and apply antisqueak to the back of the pads and the rattle clips.
