Default uca

i am about to install a rear camber kit on my 00 si. but when i went to pull out the factory uca, i was unable to break free the outer bolt. the two inner bolts came out fine. i was wondering if there was a trick to getting this bolt out. it seems that there is tension on it and seems to be "spring loaded".

Well it isn't spring loaded.

What you are experiencing is the dreaded frozen bolt. What has happened is your bolt has rusted solid to the inner metal sleeve of the rubber bushing. When you try to turn the bolt, the bushing twists until it cant twist any more, and then when you let go, the bushing springs back to it's normal location.

There are many writups on this, but no "easy" fix. Most recomend lots of PB blaster & a torch to heat the bolt. I've never tried it personally...

My bolt that holds the rear shock to the LCA froze, and I snaped the head off trying to unscrew it... I ended up replacing the LCA and getting Koni shocks. Make sure you buy a new bolt if you do get it out. And coat all bolts with anit-sieze goo before installing them (especially the non-threaded parts). This will prevent it from happening again...
