Default Tokico Illuminas w/ skunk2 coilovers. Guy wouldnt align my car!!

So far so good i love my drop so far. However I tried to get it aligned at some place in tustin and the guy told me that I needed the front/rear camber kit in order to do the alignment. Is this really true? I thought you could just get an alignment without a camber kit to balance the car.

Sigh, and here we go again.

Your mechanic is either trying to sell you parts, or has his head up his bum.

To put the car into factory specs, yes, you would need a camber kit. However, what alignment specs Honda recommends are valid for a stock car, at stock height, with stock springs.

To prevent excess tire wear and have the car drive correctly, you do not need a camber kit. You only need to get the toe set to 0 up front, and either 0 or a slight toe in at the rear (personal preference decision).

just tell them to set your toe like what was said above...they might pull some more bs if your "too low". find a place other locals have done lowered cars before.

yea like the above says. some places like where i work, can't do them so low. the compensation heads can't read each other cause the front bumper sits so low. wat i did was wen i went in for alingment, i just took the front bumper off, and watch them when they load onto the racks. they'll mess ur car up from underneath and not claim repsonsibility, or say, they're not at fault cause ur car was so low.

Go to a place that has a laser rack. More accurate. 0 toe and your tires will be fine.

As boostn said, if the car is too low the bumper may block the laser beams. That happened to me when I used to get my car aligned on a Hunter rack where my friend works. I always had to remove the front bumper in order for him to align it.

Now I go to an old-school place that doesn't use lasers, but they still get it spot-on. I also don't have to drive up onto a rack since the alignment plates stick out over a pit.
