Tokico Illumina's and which spring or sleeved coilover?
Looking to replace the sleeved coilover set up with the Illuminas that I have.
Any recommendations for sleeved coilover? Neuspeed? Skunk? Tein? Eibach springs?
I currently have a 2 finger gap all the way around would mind going a little bit lower. Not trying to tuck.

You can custom order different spring rates. I think that the off-the-shelf rates would be good for you though because they are pretty soft. Just call them up for more info. Their customer service is

i've had those shocks with OmniPower Sleeve coilovers, and that was my favorite setup with those shocks. but i wouldnt pass on a good deal on some H&R Race springs either. i had that before the coils, and they were awesome, too!

I know this is a OLD thread but I have the same problem. I know people out there have illumina set-ups, so if you dont mind post the setup and the ride quality. it will help a lot to people like me and many more

Kudos on searching! too bad its a 3 year old thread.
anyways i have illuminas, with 450f 400 r ground controls, tucking tire in front, and 1 finger rear (dc2). i have never bottomed out, but its a little harsh. not bumpy at all, just stiff. i plan on raising my car a bit to see how it works out then.
whatever spring rates you get, im sure you could find someone to trade with if you end up not liking them.

Re: Tokico Illumina's and which spring or sleeved coilover?
I had illumina with eibach lowering springs for civic(I got gsr in my eg which is heavier and thats why the tires tucked and its sucked) SO I got some adjustable sleaves and put them on the lowest setting and put on the sportline springs. Its up past the tire a rides much better.
I will post pictures later

the combination of adustable and lowering springs HAHA works good more stiff than bouncy and no tucking fenders

I'm running OTS rates on GC sleeves with my tokico struts 5 in the front, 3 in the the rear. 95 VX civic. BTW get some extended top hats if your gonna lower it any amount at all.

Re: Tokico Illumina's and which spring or sleeved coilover?
i had progress springs 320 front, 240 rear and i ran it at 4 and 3 on the illuminas. handled like no other was just to low for my tires and i rubbed so i switced to sportlines and the eibach pro dampers which are 310/275 and the ride is WAY better. I have yet to really test this handling because its actually lower in the rear now for some reason so i have to roll my fenders but i love it so far.

Re: Tokico Illumina's and which spring or sleeved coilover?
Yea I know the right spring but that is cheap ebay spring and its crappy. If it fails, that might be way later after I sell the car. I dont think it will fail soon. It might but I think later.

theyre labeled as EIBACH sportlines. i wouldnt call them cheap.
im not gonna argue with what you did. but perhaps you did it on the wrong end of the spring.... ill leave it at that.

So, standard spring perch, flat spring top seat, tapered lower seat. Flat adjustable spring perch, flat at both ends.
The threaded sleeve looks like it might be installed incorrectly to me...
