Strut replacement??
So the mechanic said my front two struts are bad, supposedly "they are leaking" and that I need to replace them. They (firestone) want to charge me like $300 to buy and replace the front 2 struts soooooooo FORGET THEM FOR THAT!!!! cuz I can do that myself, what I want to know is how can I make sure that my struts are leaking or if they're still good for sometime. And if they are bad, what harm can be done to the car if I leave them "bad" like that?
no he means an air compressor. You can do them with hand tools but doing the job with air tools are faster. You will a need coil compressor tho, in order to take the springs off correctly. I would steer away from just losing up the the strut nut and letting the spring go.
