Spongy brake after ABS removal
This weekend I removed the ABS and I have an issue where the brakes are spongy. I bled the brakes a few time, bled the master cylinder, checked for leaks, everything looks good.
When I pump the brakes when the car is off it builds pressure and feels good. When I start the car, the brakes immediately lose pressure and brakes are spongy. When the car is on I can press the brakes, the car will stop but the pedal will eventually hit the floor.
The brake master cylinder is less than 2 years old but I will be changing out the brake master cylinder tomorrow just to be sure. The master cylinder seemed fine before so was wondering if I could have done something to break it during the install?
Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.
This is on a 95 integra.

Re: Spongy brake after ABS removal
Changed out master cylinder and bled brakes. One thing I noticed was when bleeding the brakes, when the fitting was closed and pressure was on the brakes, air was coming out into the hose. Looked like there was a build up of air in the caliper but when you bleed, there is no air bubbles. Had to just close the fitting and hold the brake down and eventually after a long while, the air would stop coming out.
All feels good now.
