which shocks
i know these had been asked many times but i'm still not convince.i'm buyying new shocks because my stocks just now gave up on me......which strut should i go with that will last and handle like a champ. also these will be paired up with skunk2 lowering springs f2.5----r2.25. oh and remember no koni yella, trying to get the best shock without spending a lot of mula.
If not Yellows, then the choice is clearly Illuminas (I voted yellow). If not for any other reason than the "lifetime" warranty and proven performance...
S2's shocks offer a shortened body compared to stock. In theory this would be great. Unfortunately they are very new. I would wait at least a year to see how others hold up before buying something new (especially with a lame 90 day warranty). As we've all seen, some of the 1-year-old "JDM" "clone" coil-overs are starting to spill their guts left & right...

You honestly can't go wrong with Koni Sports (yellows). They are an absolutely superior shock design to any of the others listed, and carry a lifetime warranty (if used on a street car, race cars using these shocks are not subject to the same warranty). In all reality, the shocks are well worth the extra money versus the other choices.
For an extra special treat, ask for spss3 valving like my shocks, and run 500+ pound/inch spring rates.

The rates that come in the "off the shelf" kit would be the best. The car will be nice & smooth...

Depends on what car you have DUH!!! Nobody ever mentions what car they have in this stupid generic forum...
Just give GC a call & ask. But honestly, does it really matter anyways? I mean, would you even know what any of it meant. I've been researching this stuff for years now, and all I can say is that every car & every driver is different. What works for one driver, probably won't be optimal for another. And you will never know what works best for you until you try everything. This is the main reason why the Koni damper works well for so many people, because it has such a larger adjustment range. Unfortunately springs must be swapped out to get different rates...
