Replacing Front Upper Ball Joint / Skunk2
I've had installed my Skunk2 Camber Kit since 2005 and after a couple of months down the road after being installed, I notice that one of the ball joint boots was ripped. I didn't do anything about it, so about 2 years ago from now, I notice that my steering started to get bad. I didn't know what could it be, untill now. So, both ball joint boots are ripped.
So, here is my question:
Should I just replace the boots or replace the whole ball joints???

If it's a Skunk2 camber kit... you need to replace the whole ball joint. They are pretty cheap as far as pricing goes and it comes with a new top plate as well. Just in case your kit is a Tuner Series... the new ball joints automatically upgrade it to a Pro Series.

The boots are known to suck. Order new Skunk2 balljoints but use OEM Honda balljoint boots. Part #51464-S04-013.

Sweet, thanks guys!
For right now what I did was that I went to the dealership and bought the boots and new rings and just replaced one today, but due to the freaking rain I just replaced one for now till tomorrow. The one I just fixed was really bad and had a tad bit of grease left and had some play in it. So I added new grease and put the boot on for now to see how it would last. I have to wait to order the new ones from Skunk2 due to them being on backorder.

Re: Replacing Front Upper Ball Joint / Skunk2
If you're having trouble getting the Skunk2 ball joints, you can use a BLOX or OMNI replacement ball joint from their camber arm kit and reuse your top plate from the skunk2 kit.

Re: Replacing Front Upper Ball Joint / Skunk2
I just installed my new Skunk2 pro series ball joints yesterday but didn't put oem boots on them, I'll just wait and see when the new boots rips on these and worry about them later, thanks everyone!

Hate to bring this back up, but do you have to use the top plates to install the V2 joints? My A arms are those Vision red ones off ebay (92-95 EG) and they have a solid... here's a pic... lol
Will the skunk2's still work with these?

Re: Replacing Front Upper Ball Joint / Skunk2
hey guys
does anyone know if the newer "pro series" ball joint will work in the older/original designed camber arms?
mine were purchased in and around 2005 or so and i need replacement ball joints. the replacement ball joints on the skunk2 website here: http://www.skunk2.com/mm5/merchant.m...de=916-05-5670
in the picture the threads are in the top plate. my original design ball joints have the 4 bolts from the top and they thread right into the ball joint.
will these still work??

Re: Replacing Front Upper Ball Joint / Skunk2
but i recommend everyone inject a pile of grease into the ball joint. i just finished replacing my 5-6 year old skunk2 ball joints. the boots were NOT torn but i pulled the old boots off anyway to see why there was so much play and they were pretty much BONE DRY....no rips or tears in the boots at all....they use little to no grease in these things.....i injected a bunch of grease into the new replacement joints so it should be good to last....
