Default rear ground control install question...

When i installed my ground control coilovers on the rear of my del sol this weekend with tokico illumina's, the sleeve(threaded part) wouldn't fit down into the spring cup. Instead, it ison top(where a spring would go)...is it supposed to fit down into the cup and hit the bottom of the cup or is it fine where it is?I dont wanna end up ruining these because of installer error. TIA

On my 94 civic, the un-threaded portion of the sleeve was sitting way down in the bottom of the cup. I imagine yours should be the same. I have all the parts sitting in my garage if you want me to send you a picture. I get home around 4:30 (pacific time), so let me know...

i would like to see pics of it...are they on stock shocks?would that matter?i thought they would sit all the way down into the cup and not just on top...does anybody think this is safe or unsafe the way they are?

Okay, I will get you a pic & measure the end of the sleeve too. It was a few months ago I replaced my stock shocks & standart GC tubes with Koni Yellows & GC baby tubes. I still have all those parts sitting on my work bench, so it will be easy. Sitting them on top of the cup doesn't "sound" safe, but an inspection would be requried to tell for sure.

Just a side note:
I checked part numbers and the shocks of a 94 Civic cx & si are not the same number as the 95 Del Sol Si. I can't say exactly what the difference is between the two shocks though...

these are shocks for an integra, but they all should be the same. Anyways, i went up to the parking lot(im at school) and snapped some pics. From these, it doesnt look like any smaller of a sleeve would even help, but here they are:

how it looked when i took off the wheel

small chip on sleeve from being in crooked

How I have/had them sitting

do these look "safe" or "unsafe" to anybody? If they're unsafe, ill obviously get different sleeves, but if theyre fine, ill keep em, so somebody help me out

which rubber spacers are you using? when i did my gc's a couple weeks ago, i took them out of the box and sat around for twenty minutes trying to get the fat rubber sleeve to work before i actually read the instructions and found out i needed to be using the small rubber rings....yeah, i'm a dumbass, but hope that might help

these are used and they came with rubber o-rings that fit pretty well, so that's not the problem...i think i need a different sleeve or to cut the shock....not sure
