Default Lowering and Alignments

1995 Honda Civic CX
AMR Engineering Coilovers 550/650 Spring Rates

Hey guys from what I have read lowering your car is automatic Alignment. The car is not lowered all that much 2" gap in rear, 2.75 gap in front. Strangely the front is lower over all than the rear, 24" rear and 23.75" front.

I believe that due to a 1/4 degree left to right camber lean originally on the car has been slightly exacerbated by lowering the vehicle. I am trying to find out what originally caused the camber lean problem. I suspect it is due to blown ball joints.

1. Should I get an alignment even though my car as it sits is only toe adjustable?

Or

2. Should I be patient and attain my Hardrace Bushings and Install them along with my AMR UCA, King Motorsports Rear Camber Kit, and Full-Race Traction Bar. Then do the full Alignment with Corner Balance?

Just in case if any of you are wondering why no swaybars. Well because I would like to ascertain my true style of driving and develop my skills overall before crossing that threshold.

Thanks for any and all input guys. Greatly appreciated

out of spec toe will eat up tires fast if it's bad enough

find a place like firestone that offers lifetime alignment packages. it pays for itself after the 2nd one.

True bad toe will do that to tires. But I do not do laser alignments. I am very fortunate in that I have Darin and Chris Nishimura of West End Alignment to set the car up when ready it just takes 1-3 weeks from the time I call to get an appointment with them. The thing I like about west end is when they say -1.5* camber it's -1.5*, not -1.5*(+/-, 0.5*)

In your experience how far out did the toe run after having lowered your vehicle?

Thanks for the input.

cant remember as it's been a while since i first lowered it and have changed height a few times since. my last alignment about two months ago was due to dropping the subframe to swap my tranny so it threw everything out of wack.

Do you happen to have your alignment specs before and after Pics? It would be awesome if you lived in so cal you could see the difference between laser and west end alignment.

Anytime you adjust the height of the car or change a suspension component you should get an alignment.

If you've got no rear swaybar I highly recommend you get one. What are you doing with the car? Autocross? Track day?

Daily/Time Attack. The cars power plant is a minuscule 70hp but it all lends it self to learning and bettering my skills as a driver. Throttle control, brake control, rev matching, heel-toe, etc.

After the foundation is set, and money saved up the real fun can begin.

K22A w/ up rated internals and other goodies. Looking to hit 250whp and 175-200 torque. It's a ways away but will be accomplished in due time.

The reason for no sway bar is so that I can down the road after having tested the car I can make the right decision on the size and combination that will best suit my skill level but allow me to stil develop over time.

Good move

But honestly, you're going to wind up with one anyway and starting with a cheap OEM 22mm or even 19mm would be good, and work your way up from there.

True if I were winging this I would combo a 21mm Fr.(unless I can find 18mm/ 24mm rear. I am unsure of what characteristics the handling would have but a nice open track is all that is needed to find out.

Do they make an 18mm front swaybar for the civic eg?

If you are taking your car there, don't ask us for advice here. Those guys are LEGENDARY when it comes to alignment. Seriously ask them their opinion. I remember you posting that you took your car there for footwork. The EF they built for auto-x is pretty awesome.
