Default Conversion: leaf to coil spring

I'm a newb so please correct me if I have a misconception. How much work would be to convert from a FF car rear leaf spring to coil spring setup or beam axle setup? I have an N600. Not sure if I need to do this conversion yet, but I would want to do it later if needed and most importantly if it is not too impractical. I imagine that I would have to have control arm mounts made and welded to the chassis. Then use preexisting control arms or custom ones made. Mount the control arms to the chassis, and then articulate the other ends of the control arms with the axle. And thirdly, maybe some modification with the "strut/suspension tower"? I figure, perhaps I could have mcpherson struts replacing the original struts, thereby providing the spring with the struts. If that won't work, then I'm thinking seperate mounting locations would have to be fabricated into the solid axle and the chassis.
