BUMP STOPS CUT WHEN NOT SUPPOSE TO, causing harsh ride?
An acquaintance of my father, who is a mechanic, installed my Eibach Sportlines lowering springs with Eibach Pro Damper shocks, bought it as a kit. It cam with instructions and all but on the second set of instructions it says not to cut/trim or modify the bump stops if used with eibach springs. I have a harsh ride, somewhat loud thumps when on shitty roads or hitting pot holes. Could him having cut the bump stops when nott suppose to effect the ride? PLEASE HELP

it could have messed it up if the setup was designed to use the bump stops. so cutting them would have ruined what it was designed for.

Eibach designs their springs to re-use as much of the OEM components as possible. With most lowering springs the bumpstop is there as a safety device to protect the damper from bottoming out. If is the instructions say to not cut the bumpstops then they were able to get the drop without needing to trim them.
In some applications the bumpstops can be used as secondary spring rate tuning.
when not compressed the bumpstops are just sitting there not really doing anything.
if you are getting noises then this would indicate that something is not seated properly. bumpstop are a open cell foam shouldn't create any noise issues.
if you want to try to pin point the issue. give me a call.
