Default Adjustable coilover problem...

Ok so on the adjustable coilovers I have on the front of my 97 sol have a Alan wrench bolt you have loosen to raise/lower the ride. Well the one my driver side coilover was stripped. So I drilled the bolt out to where I could adjust it. So I raised it up and obviously couldn't tighten that bolt and wrapped the threads in gorilla tape to prevent it from threading back down.

So my question is, is it safe to not have that hex bolt ??
I drove some on it and all is well so far..

Here's my two questions. Why do you think it's there in the first place? Do YOU think it's safe?

I'm hoping just to tighten enough to where it won't thread. But idk if maybe I can open up wide enough to just slide down the threads without turning

^That, if you didn't fudge up the threads. If you did, try and re thread it.

OR, you could always try to hunt down another perch, and use it to luck the other one in.

I only run one in front, and I don't think it's ever moved, But I haven't checked them, basing this on how the car looks.

Probably wouldn't be too hard to re-tap the messed up threads. But again, a new sleeve wouldn't be expensive direct from eibach either.

Haha tron has the idea.
But yeah I called gc and they told me I have to send them an email with pictures of my coilover for then to sell me a new perch. But I mean these are a year or two old so theyre dirty and can't see the grou d control name any longer. So hopefully they can make a refund
