I'm about to start a "SEND JON TO BC (or Chile) TO SNOWBOARD" charity. Anybody have rich relatives that like to donate to charity? I'll even bring them back a sticker.

Not exactly sure what you're asking. You want to solve for A or t? You asking for specific number?</TD></TR></TABLE>

Here is the question: Suppose $2200 is invested at 3%, compounded semiannually. Find the function for the amount of money after t years.

Compound interest formula is A=P(1+r/m)/\mt
A- future amount
P- present amount
r- rate
m- # of compounds
t- time in yrs

I am assuming that you will end up with the figures along with A on the left side of the equation and it all set to equal "t"

I'd sell my car Just to ride the Alps in chile for a few days. And with the cost of these plane tickets it looks like I may have to. Cheapest is $867 and a 23 hour flight, 13 hour flight is $1213. And a first class ticket is $5K. WOW!! Think I'll just go to FL and surf a bunch this summer. Boo wish I could ride all day every day. Damn a few million would come in handy.

If I remember correctly, the Moroso valve covers are not baffled.

I have it set up and work as follows:
P= 2200 r=0.03 m= 2 A=? t=?

A=(2200)(1+((0.03/2))/\(2)(t)
A=(2200)(1+(0.015))/\2t
A=(2200)(1.015)/\2t
A/2200=(1.015)/\2t
(A/2200)/1.015=2t
((A/2200)/1.015)/2=t

Kinda confused. This formula will tell you how much money you will end up with TODAY by plugging in whatever you want for t. Why not plug in the numbers?
edit: ohh, she wants you to get t by itself, right?

In finance we solve it in all ways but we never solve for t.
So here's my guess:

If you do this, then you will solve for t but it doesn't take into consideration "m"

After you get the answer, I think you can just divide by 2 if it's semi annual

Whats the deal b/c I have been waiting to hear about all of it. Let me know if you still want me to ride with you...Unless you have replaced me
