98' teg boston speaker problem.
Recently I bought a set of 5 inch boston speakers to go along with my new deck. after removing the factory speakers we found that the plastic cone that held the speaker would not allow the speaker to sit properly. we have attempted some modifications to one of the plastic 'speaker holders', and that has yet to work. I was just wondering if anyone has had any similar problems, and what I could do to fix this-other than getting them professionaly installed.
Just do what everyone else does, and cut the basket out to allow the speaker to fit flush.. . Just be aware of depth restrictions, so the window doesn't hit the speaker when it opens...
we have made quite a few modifications to the basket, and we are getting pretty close to the screw holes and it still has a-ways to go.
or did you mean, completely eliminate the basket by removing it?
