Default Turbo manifold question

I found these two manifolds on ebay has anyone had any experience with either of these. What is the quality like. I only want to run about 6psi on my 16a6 would this be a good choice?

I know there is a LOT of bad talk about the 2nd one you linked to.
The SSautochrome one is supposedly junk as it cracks and all that good stuff.

You may have better luck posting this question in the forced induction forum.

I don't know anything and haven't read anything about the OBX one.

Honestly...i would stay away from both of those manifolds. They are both really prone to cracking. Alot of people say that they are fine if you brace them enough...but why would i buy a manifold if i had to modify it? Anyway...ive been in the FI forum for almost 2 years and ive only ever read a few posts that had anything good to say about them. And most of those same people made posts a few months later saying that they cracked. From what ive seen these things dont just crack...they crack in like 5 different places at once or just completely break. Ive never had any first hand experience with them(because i didnt wanna buy something that will crack)....im just going by what ive seen on here. SSautochrome supposedly started putting bracing on theirs...but most of the ones youll get from ebay are pieces that have been sitting on a shelf for who knows how long...so theres no telling if youll get a braced one or not.

What type of turbo are you planning on running? If i were you id stay with a log manifold for 6psi...itll offer better spool up time and be less expensive. SFP's log mani is nice. And i dont know if blox makes on for d series yet...but if they do i would highly recommend their cast mani. Anyway...good luck with hatever you decide to do

Thanks for your information sCeRaXn I will stay away from those two manifolds and go with a small log one. Mrspeaker I will check that out thanks for the information.

The set up im going for is 16a6 ( I have less then 100K on my engine )
Small t3 turbo ( Shes my DD )
Small FM intercooler
FMU
I was thinking of putting a 16y8 head gasket in because I herd they are thicker and that would bring my compression down. ( I want that for turbo right? )( not sure on this one yet need to read more about it)

I don't want huge gains on this car so I'm going for 30hp if I'm lucky.

And most of all we need more people to represent D series turbo.

Yes you want lower compression but why go through all the work if you only want 30HP? it would be super easy and safe to make more then that.

There was a discussion about these new OBX manifolds on HMT the other day. It seemed like the general consensus was that it was a step up from most of the other cheepo manifolds you can buy. Its got some sort of bracing on it which is good and it looks like its made out of better quality materials. SSautocrap on the other hand is complete crap stay away from it.

Wow I could get that much of a gain from a small turbo and have it still be "Reliable"?

I could get a HF maniflold for $30 how much is a adapeter plate?
