Today I inquired about upgrading from my stage 3 to a s200. Granted I want to get the programming features this time.

Basically for sending in my old system and upgrading I save a whopping $70. I have to pay for boost option again. 3 step rev. limiter again. The total broke down to $1310 plus shipping. For $1380 I can purchase a new system and keep my old one. When I asked if $1310 was really the price he said I was correct. If I was going to pay that much for an upgrade why wouldn't I just go with an AEM EMS?
Some people just don't care about keeping customers.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it worth upgrading to a s200? Should I stay with what I have, or go to an AEM EMS. I am not looking for other options, just what do you think the best is out of those.

WOW, that's alot of money to spend for something that should cost about 25% of what it does. For that money, you're right, why not get an EMS or something; that way at least if you get a different car it can be re-used. For professional parts/support/warranty, i'd lean towards AEM.

I know you didn't want to hear this but if you want more of a diy option, you can save about $1200 and socket and program the ecu yourself

 

you already have a socketed ecu, rip out the hondata, buy a nice $100 rom buner, get a flash chip, and go with uberdata, it will only cost you like a $150 max, and you get the options you had on hondata for free. Hondata is a great program, but they really *** rape their customers,

Hondata has a horrible trade up program. Probably because the old hardware is useless to them. If you really want an s200 system, you're better off selling your old system and then buying the s200. You'll get way more than 70 dollars that way.

Uberdata is a good option I have to say. It's pretty much free to try out.

I wouldn't suggest AEM unless you are willing to put in more time and effort in getting your car running well. The strength of Hondata/Uberdata are their simplicity.

As for whether the s200 system is worth it, it depends on why you are looking to upgrade. If it's just for programming features ask how much the upgrade to stage 4 is. I believe it is 200 dollars and Wiredspeed should be able to get it to you for less.

I'm sort of in the same situation, but not as bad. If you have an S100b, and want to upgrade to an S200b (so you can have the option of tuning yourself) you have pay $225 for the upgrade. I should have just paid the extra $50-$75 in the beginning and went with the S200 right off the bat.

Does anybody know if I was to do this upgrade all I need to do is swap the chip, and everything should be the same, correct???

so basically he didn't upgrade. He bought a whole new system, right? Now sell the old, and get some cash to pay for the new one.

Thanks they failed to explain this to me. Still that saves me about $300. I still think it would make more sense for me to sell and buy either a s200 or an EMS.

 

I highly recommend that you just sell your Hondata on EBAY or somthing, get all the cash you can, and run. Meanwhile, switch to Uberdata and program it. It's has all the features you mentioned (boost, 3-step, and self programmability) as well as support for a 3 bar map, etc. It doesn't differ whatsoever from the Hondata you pay for, except for the lack of an external control "button" and at the current moment, nitrous controls. If these are unimportant enough for you to save $1300, you should look into it.

Is there a way to convert Uberdata maps to Hondata maps?

I would guess that Hondata would not be too thrilled with that.

Just sell what you have and decide on which system you want to go with.
