Default built LS bottom end

I am about to get an LS motor (B18B) from a friend that I want to boost, if I build the bottom end can I run 20-25psi on it or will I need to sleeve it? any recommendations?

if u want to boost that high you should at least sleeve your block.

20-25psi?? Wow. Have you any idea how much power that is??

Anyway by "building the block" sleeving isn't the only thing if you want to make that much power. You'll have to make sure all your block's internals are of the highest quality forged materials. Stock rods/pistons/etc won't cut it with 20-25psi.

You do know that's like probably close to 500whp, right?

But to answer your question, hell yes. Anything after **about** 10psi and you pretty much NEED to sleeve it.

FYI: I'm being general here. The amount of psi isn't a perfect determining factor. It's actually dependent on the amount of power you make. For example, you can run 25psi on your stock block if you want....if you're only making like 200whp from bad tuning.

20-25 psi - you crazy or something , your just going to sit there and smoke them , good luck -make shore to take video when you blow a hole in your block , but any ways if you run like 14-18 your kewl man , don't go more

If you're talking a stock block.....not even close. Sleeved/closed deck and forged internals and you can get that no problem. Actually getting the full potential out of that boost pressure will depend on your tuning and other modifications such as your intake manifold, fuel system, etc.

To the original poster: I think you need to sit in a car that has even 8psi of boost. 20-25psi is insane for an "average" person.

theres no way in hell I was gonna try and do that with just sleeving and stock internals. the internals are already looked into, just wanted to know if I should go a lil further. How much HP will I be looking at with about 15 psi tuned?

it depends on your tuner and your supporting mods like fuel system and engine management...id say with a good tune and a system like hondata or uberdata 15lbs will get you up around 400 to the wheels give or take..its hard to say when i dont know your setup..
