Default Exhaust Welding ?

Hey everyone I am kinda new to welding, but my friend has welder and I am going to weld my Apexi piping to a stock muffler. Reason to many tickets, and need something to supress the noise. Just wondering will a MIG welder work, or do I need to Tig weld it? Any help would be great, this will be my first welding job and he is going to teach me.

Anyone, I need to make sure because I think he has a MIG welder only. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Mig is fine. If the piping is stainless just try to use stainless wire and the appropriate shielding gas.
