From my experience on the LS, this turbo is pretty big for a street setup, and would cause some lag from what I've used of it, so that spool is very late, due to not only the exhaust trim of the turbo, but also from the design of the head... About 4500rpms or so before even decent boost set in, but it will hit HARD, and last for only a couple of seconds because of your redline.

That trim is way to big for your stock ls. Unless you plan on upgrading your interns and rev limit than I would just go with a nice t3/t4b or the biggest 57 trim. The lag on the turbo u want will get you no where at low boost and you will be playing catch up all the way to 4th. The top end will be nice but short.

its only comes in the 76 trim or 69

i had a sc61 it was 63 ar 76 trim and i compared them and there was a big difference, the sc61 exhaust was way bigger even though it had the same trim and ar

and also the sc44 is alittle bigger then the sc34

so i don't know why spool up would be a difference

stick with sc34, a lot of ls owners run those and made good numbers on low boost.

I'm using a SC44 on my LS motor, I see full boost at 4200 and running 1.2 bar daily and I've been running the car like this about 6 months now. My making some ok power, more hopefully in the future.

I wont say who it is out of respect for him (he may not want people knowing, who knows). He has an SC61 with an S compressor cover and 76 trim turbine wheel with a four bolt .63 housing. He hits full boost (14lbs or 16lbs) at 4800rpm - 4900rpm with an open downpipe. Talk to your dealer about which turbocharger would be best for your application.

my freind had one on a stock teggy, it doesnt hit hard on low boost setting until late in the 4000s as others have said before there is no point for such a big turbo, t3s can push 10lbs dainly and still be well within their efficiency range, which would lead to much quicker spool up and better throttle response

not to ***** this thread but ive been looking at the same turbo but on a GSR with built internals....

i should spool a bit quicker than the 4200 ish you mentioned right? more lke 3800-3900?

also - i should be able to break 350whp with this turbo without tons of boost...
