95 EX Head gasket
I was just wondering if there was a online do it yourself guide to replacing the head gasket on a D16Z6 motor. Just recently I blew 2 new rad's in less then 2 weeks, i instantly knew that once my second rad blew it was a head gasket problem or a cracked head that needs to be remachined. Anyhow, if anyone could help me in my endevors it will hopefully save me some dough
its very simple. i changed mine in 25ºF weather, with bare cold hands, in about 3 or 4 hours.
Step 1. Put motor at TDC! / unplug negitive battery terminal
then just take off EVerything connected to the head. unplug every wire, unclamp every hose, undo every bolt.
then take the valvecover off, im not sure if you have to remove the cam to access the headbolts or not, but undo the head bolts, then lift the head off.
some people say its easyer to leave the IM on. i took mine off.
replace headgasket.
when you put everything back together be double carefull that you get the timing belt on correctly. then adjust your timing if you need to.
