ATN: ALL GURU Turbo FOLKS Need Major Help Motor/Fuel/Tuning Problem.
Let me go ahead and explain to you my situation.
I have a fully built ITR Motor, w/ a custom Turbo Kit and Tuned Hondata S100B
Here's my problem after 3 hard runs I need to replace my spark plugs because they go out. The plugs that I am currently running is NGK R5671A-8 Stock #4554 gapped at .25
What happens after three hard runs (Redlining the car 3x) by the 4th run when i hit 6500 rpm @ WOT the car will bog as and will cut in and out of power. If I replace it w/brand new ones the car will pull again fine...
I am running on 10lbs of boost, making 299.7 HP n 207 TQ
Ive been told by my tuner that my injectors are maxed out running at 100% and also hondata. So my FPR has been raised to 52 idle and 62 WOT
Does anyone have a clue as to what might be wrong? I'm stumped...
Any help is appreciated
My Setup is as follows:
JDM ITR Block
GE Sleeved Block
CP 9.1 81.5mm .20 Pistons
Eagle Rods
AEBS Mainstuds + Headstuds
Manly Valves
Cometic HG
ACL Bearings
IGN Setup
MSD Wires
MSD SS Blaster Coil
Engine Management / Fuel Setup
Hondata S100B
Walbro Fuel Pump Internal Hiflo
440cc Injectors
AEM Fuel Rail/ FPR
Turbo Setup
Fmax Manifold/DP/Intercooler
SC61 Turbo
TIAL WG w/ 10lb srping

If your injectors are running at 100% duty cycle, then why are you coming on here asking why you're having fuel/ignition problems?
Get larger injectors. They won't get stuck open like they are now and you'll stop fouling plugs.

because i just dropped the psi down to 7lbs and it's still doing the same.
And i never realized that the culprit of the problem is because of teh injectors...
Can someone else elaborate more on what lse might be going wrong?
I understand taht the injectors are running at 100% duty cycle but how does that affect the plugs?

I would have to say your plugs are being fouled at torque peak or before. After that the engine is trying clean it up through the rest of the RPM band. But if you lean it down you will suffer at the upper RPM because the injectors won't flow enough.
My .02cents

who tuned it?
chances are its probably fouling at some other portion of the fuel map, ie. under light load, it could be running 11:1 or so. its hard to say without slapping a wideband on it.

I would :
a) Use different plugs. Try ngk pt# 1095 (bcp7es-11)
b) Try gapping it at .028
c) get some more tuning.
It sounds like you're getting to much fuel and fouling up the plugs.

thats really odd, i thought fouling the plugs meant too much fuel,
But according to Redzone, the shop that built my motor, they told me that the plugs are melting.
Lawrence @DSR tuned my car, and he was telling me that I was running lean uptop b/c my injectors are maxed out and i need to upgrade my injectors...
any other suggestions?

those are turbo plugs but dont work well on a daily driver i would opt for some bcp7

akira-r, show them a picture of the most recent ones....it shows how the plugs are melting.....the pic you have up are of the ones that are in it now.........I would like to get some insight on this aswell......I beleave that the engine is fouling the plugs under light load and leaning out at WOT after the turbo spools...... can anyone add on this?
