Clicking noise...can anyone help!
To any good engine Dr's out there,
For the past few months I've been hearing a clicking noise and it seems to be coming from the head of my engine. I was given info to do a valve adjustment which I did and I thought may be the problem. My car runs better, however, the noise is still there. Anyone know what else it could be?? Someone else has told me that I may have too much wear & tear in the valves b/c of 150K miles. Are they right? and would I need new valves or should I adjust the valves a little tighter, although I know the Chilton repair manual says not to go too tight. Help!! What do I have to do??
Another Q: My A/C is blowing hot air only and recently I added R134 and it started back up. The next day it was out again; when I added the R134 I noticed I was missing the lower compression valve cover, could this be my problem for the R134 to not stay in or should I just have it checked by a shop?
Any info would be greatly appreciated and as Dave Chappelle would say, "You're ganna git sum chicken!"

with the ac, u should get that checked by a shop cuz that is wierd... otherwise can u pinpoint the sound with a stethoscope or something like it to find exaclty where it is coming from???
It could very well be your valves. I have the same noise and it's because one or maybe 2 valves aren't aligned correctly or possibly bent. You should hear this noise get louder if you're going up a hill or if you're on low RPM. Some people might mistaken it as a loose exhaust pipe. I checked my pipes and it's not that.
The ticking sound can be coming from your injectors. Honda injectors have a loud tick to them. An easy way to tell would be to take a screw driver, and with the handle to your ear, go over various sections of the motor (valve cover, injectors)

Could be coming from the bottom end? If you say its getting louder it could be a spun bearing, but that maybe too extreme, but I had the same ticking sound that eventually got louder, and it was a spun rod bearing...
Actually, several people are mentioning that it could be the injectors. Others say exhaust manifold leak or bad gasket. What do you guys think? Out of all these things to check, which we be the easiest and fastest to do?
Thanks a mill everyone for all the info!
