what is optimal psi range for drag III T3/T4 57 trim turbo

pretty much like it says, i have noticed i am on about 12 psi but am not making as much as some of the others on about 9psi. so i was wondering what rpm, and what efficiency range it would be and boost levels of course

would help to know what U expected to make in power. and what fuel management you have. do u have a 3 inch exhaust system or aftermarket intake manifold?

I have seen on the hondata website that this turbo in their opinon needs to see more than 9lbs of boost to be in its efficiency range. they had one that did about 250 or so whp on a gsr. their comments were something in the neighborhood of that they think it can make more power at higher boost levels.

This is something I would like to know too. I'm running mine at 9lbs on a stock block GSR. I don't really have access to a dyno though to tell you hp numbers. I hope some expert will reply eventually.

i see 290whp on stock block gsr @9 psi from t3/t04e. from looking at my torque curve, since it is a bigger turbo, I would say the more psi the better to make up for the lag. the torque curve is almost vertical so with more psi the whp curve would be steeper as well. dont know if this answers ur questions though....

I would think so too due to the sheer size of the Drag turbo. maybe his problem is tuning? and i think a decent followup with all his mods listed would help.

yeah my thing is i am at 13psi and am making right at 300hp, then i have added a 20 shot, because i was scared my injectors were maxxing out, so i sprayed and made like 370 something. but i have seen so many boosted honda making like 270 on 9psi, mine is still a B16 and i am at 8.5:1 comp ratio, so i probably need to go higheer anyways

Givent that you're on a b16 and lower compression, it sounds like you could use more boost. I guess you answered your own question really. I have a friend with a custom turbo on his gsr motor making 315 or so whp on stock block at 11psi. his was tuned too, so 300 hp on a b16 sounds real good to me.

if you're talking about the t3/to4e .63/.60 57trim off SOME of the drag kits then anything over 10psi is sweet. i'm making a decent amount of power off mine.
