Default ls turbo overheating please help

i have a ls turbo boosting 8 psi. when i was using the afc hack my car temperature was perfect. Now that im using hondata my car starts over heating after about 20-30 minutes of driving, but when i come to a stop the temp either goes down to normal or about 3/4 hot. im using 450cc injectors and the duty cycle is maxxed out. Also my friend tuned my car so maybe ignition maps are off? could it be head gasket or should i retune?

its a stock b18b
running lovefab sidewinder manifold(lots of heat with this)
open downpipe (cuts off under the oil pan, so probably letting a lot of heat in the engine bay)
New thermostat about 3 months ago
I drained and refilled the coolant and bleed it; coolant in the reservoir is at the max mark.
My fan is always on

I would start with heat wrapping the manifold and getting your downpipe extended

If you dont have enough timing it will cause you car to overheat. Also, how does the car run and what do the plugs look like you might wanna start there

he tunes his own cars pretty well and he tuned my other friend's gsr turbo perfectly..my car is the only one that gave him a hard time..so you're saying leaning out may have caused my car to overheat?

I dont exactly what caused your car to overheat , could be a number of things ,but with the plugs looking like you said they did something is not right and i would guess its with eitehr ignition, fuel, or both being your car ran find until you put hondata on it

the coolant is actually staying the same..it doesnt overflow out like it would do if you have blown headgasket

are you sure the coolant is flowing when the car comes up to temp?

maybe a waterpump problem.

so i just checked my coolant line...with the car on, i squeezed the bottom coolant hose that goes to the thermo and it was pretty hard to squeeze...i guess i will have to change out the cheap autozone thermo to an oem one...hopefully that solves the problem somewhat

it definantely sounds like a cooling issue man. Just start checking **** in your cooling system.

Don't see how its a cooling issue when it started right after the hondata was installed. From what you've said...your most likely running lean or timing is off. I had a Suzuki Samurai years ago that had a bolt on the dist. back out. Started loosing power and when I got home and popped the hood, the header was glowing red. Engine was also rather hot.
