you opened up the thermostat housing and there was no thermostat?
does the cluster read a temp?
have you tried bleeding the coolant system? i would start there

well put a thermostat n, replace cap, bleed system and if ur still having probs check head, replace hg. Is there oil in ur coolant? vice versa? if so head gasket or r u losing coolant and cant find where its leakin than its the hg.

Ok so I drained all the water out and filled with coolnt an bled the whole thing squeezed the hose and coolnt came from the cap so I changed to another. Pulled it outta the garage and the exhaust had a lil white smoke comin out was still cold then reved a lil and it stoped took it for a decent drive and by time I got home there was smoke coming from the cap and can see it squirted a lil coolnt out as well but no boiling in the resivor wat you guys think now

u need a thermostate in there period. U may b able to throw a hg on it if thats the problem but u should get the head checked and milled if the machine shop says its necessary.
