Synthetic oil?
You can swap. I did at 180k miles. Yes I burn a little oil now (1qt every 3k miles) The only thing you want to make sure of is that you do not use a detergent syth oil. You might start to get some leaks from worn seals because the syth oil has smaller particles but I wouldn't be too worried about it. You can swap back if you decide you don't like it... If you couldn't why would they sell stuff that is half syth half dino?

Sorry, but you guys need to know what you are talking about before you post.
How many cars do you think come with synthetic when you buy it. IT IS FINE to go from dino to synthetic, but not good to go from synthetic to dino. There are some steps you can take to do it but it is best not to. The synthetics have detergents that coat the engine and will repel regular oil....... but it depends who you talk to. There are a lot of opinions out there on this, but ALL the experts agree that it is safe to switch to synthetic.

When I first bought my lude, I did an engine flush than switched to synthetic. Currently using Mobil 1 and I am very satisfied. Is anybody running Royal Purple? I was considering it for my next change.

I swap back and forth depending on how much time I know I will have to change. In the summer when I am driving hard more often and have more time to do frequent changes I use cheaper dino, and in the winter when I don't enjoy freezing off my nuts to change the oil, I stay out of VTEC and use fully synthetic. Never had a prob, running 174k miles strong...
Maybe I don't know what I am talking about, but I do know what I am doing. So.... STFU.
Oh yeah, ur canadian, i should be nice.

lol...... If you re-read my post you will see that I agree with you. It is the people who say it will kill your engine if you switch that I think need to do some research. Everyone should read the link I posted..... it is a bit of a read but has tons of information.
How long have you been switching back and forth?

Where did you get that from??? Detergents to repel regular oil????
ALL and I do mean ALL multiweight oils are partially synthetic. The only problem in the detergents in Synthetics is that they break down the sludge left by conventional oils and may lead to leaks. On an engine with less than 75k, you can switch either way.
