Just installed the Full-Race turbo kit last night and we have noticed that the BOV is open at idle. My buddy has the same BOV (50mm Tial) and his is closed at idle. Now im not sure if my is supposed to be open because its at the end of the intercooler or do i have a vacum problem. Full-Race guys please help let me know what your BOV does. Thanks

 

so adjust it until it remains closed at idle....

 

how do you adjust a blow off valve? there is no adjustments on it. just the vacume port. On another note Boris chage your damn avatar beeoch

 

it SHOULD close once you apply throttle to it...because in theory if you think about it, the BOV opens when you are off the throttle to release pressure, so at idle you are off the throttle causing it to remain open...

 

At Idle, it should be remained closed. It should only open when it feels vac, but should not remain open. what vac source are you using?

 

A BOV needs a good vacuum source and pressure surge to open up. At all other times it should be closed. There should be a spring inside the wastegate, you may need to take it out and strech it.

because the spring is not closed on idle. when you hit the gas pedal it closes.

 

You can actuall see the open valve....then when the throtle is pressed at all it closes....I runs and holds boost, but we just thought it was weird since I have the same BOV (tial) and it always remains closed at idle. Could it have anything to do with it being mounted on the intercooler instead of the upper charge pipe?? We thought there could be some pressure difference that was effecting it....or is the brake booster line to big? It seems the t fitting supplied with the kit were ment to be installed there since they were so large.
