Default HEAD BOLTS STRIPPED HELP!!

1 of my head bolts stripped.. any tips on taking it off?? should i drill it?

try a bolt extractor first, if that dosent work talk to your machine shop. its probably best they tackle it rather than you drilling.

so you cant take it out? I think sears has those special sockets for stripped bolts, someone has used it and it actually worked.

i had this problem before

buy some reverse drill bits and drill it out
make sure if they don t come out
then just helicoil the bitch!!!but they will come out i drilled out a broken crank bolt before

thank god for who ever invented reverse drill bits

you stripped the head of the bolt or you stirpped the threads of the head bolt.
if you stripped the head of the bolt man it is going to take some luck and some time. the only thing i know of that i would do would be to take a socket that is a little bit smaller that you have to hammer on it and then try takeing it off. only prob is there is so much torque on that bolt it might make it a little diffacult to come off.

i tired hammering a smaller socket... it didnt work.. i ended up have to drilling didnt get it out yet.. it got dark outside gonna give another shot soon

no my buddy over torque a head bolt and broke one
i then had to deal with it
i drilled it out with reverse drill bits then
next he strips the the hole
so then i helicoil it and now that motor is still runiing strong on 80 shot direct port

thanks to helicoil and reverse drill bits
