Default VTEC motor inplace of a inboard marine motor in a boat

Has anyone ever heard of know of anyway to put a vtec h22 or a NSX motor really any VTEC motor and convert it so it will work in a boat with a boat transmission...

I wonder if its possible. Ive seen car motors used in the past in boats but generally LT1 corvette or V8's. anyone ever try with a vtec?

just a thought

doesnt sound like a good idea. you would want as much torque as possible, not just high rpm's

although an h22 would sound mean in vtec with nothing but a reversion chamber for an exhaust.

or even better, a boosted h22 running an open downpipe. put it in something the size of one of the old jet boats

I second the comment about lack of torque. There's a very good reason why boats use diesels - torque.

but if the boat is small enough, wait, on secnd thought, stuff an h22 into a jet ski, might take some work, but dayum it'd be fun

It doesn't really make sense imo, typically boats don't use high-revving peaky small motors, which describes a vtec motor (relative to a big block chevy, for example).

yea but chevy blocks dont spint to 8500 rpm either, if it were in someting small and lightweight like a sea doo jet boat i wouldnt be too worried about torque, i think they use 600cc 4's not sure though, but i know its a four cylinder, some use three cylinders also

Honda already did this it's a simialar motor to a GSR and it's an outboard.

It wouldnt be too hard too put the motor in, but you have to remember you have to get the boat up on a plane from there torque isnt especailly a factor
