Default Motor Help

I have an H22a. My dizzy broke so i replaced it with another one. Now the motor idles fine and revs up and everything. Now my main thing is if i gradually press on gas pedal, it will rev up and the motor sounds clean. Now if i smash on the gas, after 5200 i hear a deep tone wich sounds like vtec, but vtec is suppose to open at 4800.It just sounds like something is not right when it has a heavy load compared to me just giving it gas gradually.

i got my computer chipped with an h22 basemap and vtec opening at 4800. If it is indeed vtec opening, why does it sound way louder now, than when i first did the swap,i barely heard it,but it was always working. Also Could rich plugs(wen i first did the swap,my plugs were always black and recently now they look brownish)could dat cause the vtec not to be as loud as if they were runnign normal???
