Default Accord intake BOOST

The other day we installed a cheap little intake onto my brothers 93 accord, and there was a wire that was connected to the stock intake (looked like a sensor), if u look it should be the 4 tube farthest from the front of the car, but the 3rd tubing is blocked off by a cap and we hooked the fourth wire to it and for some reason there was a GIANT boost of air going in, is this safe and wat does this sensor/wire/tube do?

im not sure about the 4th gen, but on 5th gens, theres a vacum line that has to be sealed off, so its probably a similar situation.....

Definitely post pics, if it's not a problem, any extra air flow is good.
